Winter is the perfect time to trim large trees to help with continued growth and strength. We encountered this tree shown in the images on a recent job. The tree was blocking the sun, which is essential in winter for the surrounding homes to have plenty of sunlight, and the limbs and branches were becoming brittle in that they would fall off at any time.
You can imagine that in winter weather, it has the potential for limbs to fall on a house or, worse case, on a child playing in the backyard.
The tree limbs were repurposed into mulch, which will be used in one of our gardens. To be honest, the end result is an ugly duckling. Through spring and summer, it will transform into a lush tree again and return stronger.
